Dear Commission 7 Delegates, Correspondents and Friends,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the FIG Commission 7 Annual Meeting 2010 and the one-day International Open Symposium to be held at the Thermal Spa Hotel in Karlovy Vary, the Czech Republic on 6 -10 September 2010.

Karlovy Vary lies in West Bohemia, about 120 km west of the capital Prague. It is the largest and best known spa city in the Czech Republic. Karlovy Vary offers everything you can think of. Accommodation and catering of all categories, unique spa procedures and wellness programs, beautiful historical ambience, innumerable ways to enjoy sports and culture, all that surrounded by an amazing atmosphere. Karlovy Vary is also a significant commercial centre with great potential for congress tourism.

As part of the Annual Meeting the one-day International Open Symposium with the topic “Digital Cadastral Map“ has been included. Many countries finished digitalization of cadastral maps several years ago, some just recently. This issue is a hot topic in the Czech Republic. Tasks and problems associated with the creation of digital cadastral maps, updating and interpreting the results on the Earth's surface will be discussed in this symposium. Registration for the Annual Meeting automatically includes registration for this symposium.

The on-line registration will be open from May. Please register before August 20.

In preparation for the Annual Meeting, you are invited to send agenda items to ossko.andras@fomi.hu or figcomm7@fomi.hu.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Karlovy Vary and wish you a most pleasant trip and stay in the Czech Republic.

With kindest regards,

András Osskó, Chair, Commission 7
Václav Šanda, President of the Czech Union of Surveyors and Cartographers
